Is staff housing provided?
Yes. Finding housing in Gros Morne can be difficult, so we provide staff accommodations for our team. This includes electricity, water, and high-speed internet, so you can focus on the adventure without the stress of finding a rental.
Do I need prior guiding experience?
Not always. While we hire experienced Hiking and Kayak Guides, we also offer Trainee positions. If you have the right attitude, fitness level, and willingness to learn, we provide professional development and training.
What is the "reference of gold"?
We value commitment. Guides and staff who successfully complete their full contract and finish the busy season strong are eligible for a personalized, detailed letter of recommendation, gold for your future career. financial bonus on top of their regular pay.
Do guides keep their tips?
Yes. You keep 100% of the gratuities you earn. Our guests are often very generous, and tips can be a significant addition to your competitive hourly wage.
What kind of training do you offer?
We invest in our team. We offer training in Boating Safety, Kayak Instruction, and interpretive guiding skills. You will leave the season with more skills than you started with.
Can I use the equipment on my days off?
Absolutely. We believe in "Work & Play." Staff have free access to our fleet of Kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboards, and Fat Bikes. We even offer boat shuttles to remote camping areas for your days off.
What positions are you hiring for?
For the 2026 season, we are hiring Hiking Guides, Kayak Guides, Food Tour Guides, Front Desk Staff, Airbnb Cleaners, and even a Live-in Nanny for our adventurous family.
When does the season start?
Our season typically runs from late May to October. Start dates vary by position, but most guides arrive in late May for training and setup.
Is this a full-time job?
Yes. Most of our positions, including Guides and Front Desk staff, are full-time seasonal contracts. We need reliable team members who are ready to work hard during the peak summer months.
Do you hire couples?
Yes, we often hire adventurous couples! Since we offer housing and a variety of roles (e.g., one partner guides while the other manages the desk), Wild Gros Morne is a great place for couples to work and travel together.
What is a typical day like for a Hiking Guide?
You will lead guests on trails like the Tablelands or Green Gardens, ensuring their safety and sharing knowledge about the park's geology and history. You’ll also help with the Gros Morne Hiking Festival events.
What does a Content Creator do?
This is a dream job for creatives. You will capture photos and videos of our tours, manage our social media, and help tell the story of Wild Gros Morne. You get to join the adventures to get the shot!
Do I need a driver's license?
For Guide positions, a valid Class 5 Driver's License is highly preferred, as you may need to transport guests or gear. For Front Desk or Housekeeping roles, it is helpful but not strictly mandatory.
What is the "Food Truck chef" role?
This unique role involves managing our food truck and leading our culinary experiences. You will learn to care for a greenhouse, harvest fresh produce, and guide guests through a local tasting journey.

What is the Live-in Nanny position?
We are looking for an energetic person to care for our daughter, Adelaide. She is an adventure kid who loves boats and hiking. Ideally, you are someone who loves the outdoors and wants to be part of our family for the summer.
Do you hire international staff?
We welcome applicants from around the world, provided you have a valid IEC Working Holiday Visa or Canadian work permit for the duration of the season.
Is there cell service at staff housing?
Yes. Staying connected is important. Our staff accommodations have reliable cell service and high-speed Wi-Fi, so you can FaceTime home or stream movies on your downtime.
Do I need my own gear?
We provide all safety gear and uniforms. However, guides should have their own personal outdoor clothing (good hiking boots, rain gear, comfortable layers) suitable for Newfoundland weather.
