TideLine Kayak Club | Spring Group Paddle | May 3 2025

Join us On May 3, 2025 for our TideLine Kayak Club Spring Group Paddle, designed to shake off the winter cobwebs and mark the first of our many of our kayak group paddles of the season. This relaxed paddle is perfect for paddlers with prior experience who are ready to get back on the water for another season. As many people’s first paddle of the year, this is a free event that promises both a fun spring adventure and a warm welcome back to the water.

Event Details

Meeting Time & Location:
We’ll meet at 10:00 AM at Water’s Edge Gros Morne (https://watersedgegrosmorne.com/) in shoal brook near woody point and launch directly from their marina. The Lightkeeper’s Cafe located right onsite will have hot coffee, tea, hot and cold water available before we hit start for those driving in or looking to fill a thermos for the paddle.

Experience & What to Bring:
Since the water is still quite cold at this time, previous sea kayak experience is required and a wetsuit or drysuit is highly recommended. Dress in layers, be prepared for spring weather, cold water and check the forecast.

Route & Activities

We have two routes planned out and the group can discuss that morning after a good look at the weather and wind conditions.

Route 1: Paddle from the Water’s Edge along the coast of South arm to Gadds Harbour, Needies Harbour and East arm. Return across the tickle to Woody Point and back along the coast to Water’s Edge

Route 2 : If wind and weather permits, we may alter our route toward Woody Point and venture out along the steep Lookout Cliffs.

Lunch Break: We’ll stop at a remote beach for a break, where we can take a break from our boats, enjoy lunch and a chat
