Book Your Stay at The Water's Edge Gros morne

We are a small campground with a limited number of sites, and being directly on the fjord, we book up quickly during June, July, August and September. We would love to have you as our guest, so please plan your dates and book ahead to ensure your stay. Everything you need to know about your stay at the Water's Edge.

How close is the campground to the Tablelands?
We are the closest oceanfront campground to the Tablelands! It is just an 8-minute drive from your campsite to the Tablelands trailhead. You can see the mountains right from your RV site.
Do you have serviced RV sites?
Yes. We offer fully serviced oceanfront sites with 30-Amp Electrical and Water hookups. We also have 15-Amp sites available. We do not have sewer hookups at every site, but a dump station is available nearby.
What is a "Glamping Pod"?
Our Saltbox Pods (Yellow & Green) are unique, wooden structures shaped like traditional Newfoundland homes. They offer a cozy, weather-proof camping experience with real beds and electricity, without the hassle of pitching a tent.
Are there showers and washrooms?
Yes. We have a brand new, modern Comfort Station featuring flush toilets and hot showers. We pride ourselves on keeping these facilities spotless for our guests.
Is there Wifi and Cell Service?
Yes! Unlike many areas in the park, Water's Edge has excellent Cell Service and offers High-Speed Wifi to all guests. It is perfect for planning your next day's hike or sharing your photos.
Can I see whales from my campsite?
Absolutely. We are located directly on the Bonne Bay fjord. Minke whales, humpbacks, and dolphins are frequently seen feeding right off the shoreline, often visible while you sip your morning coffee.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly campground! Pets must be kept on a leash and under control at all times. We ask that owners pick up after their pets to keep the grounds clean for everyone.
Is the road to the campground paved?
Yes. We are located in Shoal Brook with easy access via paved roads. There are no rough gravel roads to navigate, making it safe and easy for large Class-A Motorhomes and 5th Wheels.
Can I have a campfire?
Yes, campfires are part of the experience! We have large communical firepit area right on the ocean and Firewood is available for purchase. Please adhere to any local fire bans if they are in effect.
Do you have a boat launch?
Yes. We have a private small craft marina and boat launch. Guests are welcome to launch their kayaks, paddleboards, or small zodiacs directly into Bonne Bay from the campground.
What are the "Lighthouse Suites"?
For those who want luxury, our Lighthouse Suites offer full amenities including a kitchenette, private bathroom, and oceanfront views. It is the comfort of a hotel with the nature of a campground.
Is there food or coffee on site?
Yes! The Lightkeepers Cafe and Lighthouse Eats Food Truck are located right on the property. You can grab specialty coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and lobster rolls without leaving the campground.
How far is the Green Gardens trail?
The Green Gardens trailhead is just an 11-minute drive from Water's Edge. We are the perfect basecamp for exploring the volcanic coastlines.
Do I need to book in advance?
Highly Recommended. As one of the few oceanfront campgrounds in Gros Morne, our serviced sites and glamping pods sell out quickly for July and August. Please book online as early as possible.
Are there "Tiny Cabins" available?
Yes, our "Crow's Nest Tiny Cabins" offer a rustic but comfortable upgrade from tent camping. They are perfect for couples looking for a roof over their heads and a cozy bed.
Is there a store for supplies?
Yes, our on-site "Craft & Convenience Shop" carries camping essentials, snacks, ice, firewood, and locally made souvenirs.
Is the campground quiet?
We are a family-oriented and nature-focused campground. We have strict quiet hours from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM to ensure everyone can enjoy the peaceful sounds of the ocean.
Can I book tours from the campground?
Yes! Water's Edge is the HQ for Wild Gros Morne. You can book your Boat Tours, Fishing Charters, and ATV Tours right at our front desk, and many depart from right here at the dock.
How many people are allowed per campsite?
the maximum capacity for any campsite is 5 guests. Please note that only one RV, camper, or tent is permitted per site. The number of guests included in your base rate, as well as fees for additional guests, depend on the type of site you book: Oceanview Unserviced Campsites: The base rate includes 2 adults. Additional adults are $10 per adult per night. Additional children (under 16) are $5 per child per night. Oceanfront and Marina Sites: The base rate includes 2 adults and 2 children (under 16). Additional adults are $10 per adult per night. Additional children (under 16) are $5 per child per night.
Do you have tent sites?
Yes, we offer unserviced oceanfront and oceanview tent sites. They are grassy, level, and offer spectacular sunset views over the water.
What is the cancellation policy?
We understand plans change. For campsites, we require 48 hours notice for a refund (minus a small admin fee). For Glamping Pods and Suites, please check your specific booking confirmation as terms may vary.
